Joe Paetsch

A Milwaukee-area native, Joe joins the Heartland team with a variety of experiences in different areas of natural resources management. Seasonal career opportunities have taken him to places at home and beyond, from Bayfield to the Pacific coast. His career in natural resources began in Montana Conservation Corps as part of an invasive weeds management crew, performing pesticide treatment in the Powder River County area. This experience was succeeded by positions with the US Forest Service, Wisconsin DNR, and US Bureau of Land Management. Jobs duties included raptor surveys, native trout habitat restoration, genetic sampling, hydrology surveys, wetland delineations, fish hatchery work, and much more.

An avid outdoorsman, Joe likes to spend his free time doing anything outside, especially fly fishing.
